In 2014 Hill Thalis, together with Clare Design, won the Yeerongpilly Green project for Consolidated Properties, south-west of Brisbane’s city centre. The team worked together to master plan a contemporary and vibrant urban centre, with a confident architectural character based on urban condition, amenity and environmental performance. Our intention is to create an appropriate urban scale through a diverse range of solutions – in type, scale, form and material that are unified by a consistent response to the site and its sub tropical context.
Yeerongpilly Green will demonstrate best practice in urban renewal supported by public transport, offering an enhanced destination and experience for visitors to the Queensland Tennis Centre to eat, stay and play longer. Key heritage buildings on the site will be restored and a new boutique hotel built to enliven the precinct from day one – anchoring a new village main street and generous pedestrian spine.
