This latest stage of an ongoing project redefines the presentation and operation of the Midway Centre – an established local shopping hub that well serves its suburban neighbourhood.

Earlier stages undertaken by Hill Thalis included the re-organisation and landscaping of the car park and the construction of a new service station.

This stage adds a confident 3 storey corner, resolving the ragged edges of the existing structures and uniting the centre’s access and circulation. A generous three storey steel verandah brings an urban scale to the centre and helps define the broad space of the street intersection.

The new building accommodates a range of new retail and service spaces, disabled facilities including an accessible lift and toilets, and completes the loop of circulation to better connect the centre to the car park.
